Hmm, in my honest opinion, the amount of opportunities Fall Out Boy gives to its fans to win meet & greets and miscellaneous other things is extraordinary, when compared to other bands/singers who have made it big.
I admit, I do feel sorry for those people who spent a fairly substantial amount of time putting together the video, but to be honest, making a video and hosting a show are two different things altogether.
Without Dirty's help to make them, the host, and the audience feel at ease, the whole show would have gone to pot, because let's face it, if I'm going to one of these shows, I'm not really paying to watch some random person stumble their way through hosting the show.
FOB could have as easily called off the whole competition and not given any prizes away at all. Instead, they're giving away meet & greet passes. I'm sure if you do win and get the passes and mention you were the winner of the competition, they would take out an extra moment or two, compared to the others in line for the M&G, to have a little chat with you and hey! Even if you didn't meet Dirty, you'll always have the honour of being able to tell other people you won a competition organized by FOB.
I am also shocked by that woman's comment on the whole petition, the one about being the mother of one of the contest participants, because she should jolly well know, as a mother, how hard it is being away from your baby, like Dirty is. Unless she doesn't fully know the whole situation.
I am also ashamed by how people are reacting. Goodness knows how long Dirty's been on the road without having any physical contact with his own child. The whole petition is really a joke. I don't think that FOB went through with the final plan without any serious thinking, by them and by others, before coming to this decision. Seriously, if you knew a close friend of yours, who had been helping you out for a long time and wanted to be with his son, whom he had be away for what possibly to him seemed like a lifetime, would you prevent him from doing that, something that he so very deserves, just so you can entertain your own fans?
And, I haven't watched any of the entries for that particular competition, so I wouldn't be able to say whether the videos were amazing or not.
