I had a patient last week with a belt buckle exactly like your tattoo from last summer's trip. He was a career guy with something like 52 months in Vietnam between '60 and '68, and someone had handcrafted the emblem into buckles for he and some of his buddies years ago. He still wears it every day. He thought it was kinda neat that you had the tattoo, but he wanted to know why you weren't signed up if you like it that damn much. :D
Haha. I would have been. I wanted to go into the RAF at sixteen, but I couldn't, and when I wanted to go into the territorial army I just couldn't because I was misdiagnosed with asthma.
That and the fact I'm female and they don't allow women in the Paras, much less Englishwomen in the Airborne.
They don't allow us in the infantry, either. Closest to action you can really get in the UK is being on the Light Gun, which is like a small canon they drop from Hercules aircraft and assemble on the ground with a team of three.

I didn't know they don't allow women in the Paras. That's fucking stupid.
