I think terms taken out of context to decribe people or things - just as calling something shoddy "gay", or calling someone who is able bodied a "spaz" is out of line, because it implies those things are a negative thing to be. But I don't really see that calling a friend a "Paki" when playing around, as long as it does not offend them, is terrible. If it does you should apologise and stop immediately.
But political correctness is beyond ridiculous, these days.
