(no subject)

We have received confirmation for the trip to Chicago!

We're staying at the Lakeshore (originally they wanted to put us in the InterContinental, which worried me because it looked really posh, but this one seems much more young and hip - plus is has amazing Lake views and a bar on the roof) and flying out with American Airlines. Apparently, they were originally aiming for Virgin and yet another hotel which shall remain nameless because I'm fairly certain I know why there was 'no availability'.

We haven't been told the story with the gig, yet - I'm guessing it will probably be a guestlist thing.

We're considering going to another show the night before, because someone from another band I've spoken to recently is launching their album on 9 June. Tickets for Fall Out Boy for that night are still our first choice, I think, but we're also looking at the other gig. Literate & Stylish now has an interview with Holy Roman Empire and Jay Jancetic is lovely.

Plus, I was thinking about getting a tattoo while I'm out there and I've decided what I'm getting, now. Can anyone here recommend a good tattooist in Chicago?

I have a friend who owns a shop (China Doll, but it's not in the city and you'd have no way of getting there without a costly cab fare or a car rental. It's a shame too, because she and her husband do amazing work.

The Belmont area should have some places to check out. I'm so crappy with my geography anymore since we've been gone for years, but getting a cab there shouldn't be a long trip. There's a "rock" store called The Alley right there, and a ton of gritty clubs. The intersection of Belmont and Clark should get you into an interesting area, and there's bound to be a tattoo shop or twelve around to check out.

Awesome - thank you so much!

I was going to resort to emailing the band's tour crew and asking their opinions! O_O

All I really remember of Chicago is that I didn't eat any pizza, the Children's museum was really fun, and a very nice man in a bar opposite the art museum gave us lots of free food.

I liked it : ) You'll no doubt have an awesome time...
