So, someone on my flist linked to pics of RyRo and his 'girlfriend'.

Everyone is squeeing over them, but personally, I think they're fucking awful. They look posed, contrived and very Mrs Robinson.

Now, I couldn't give a fuck about who the kid dates - I'm not even a big enough fan to know he was dating her before I saw these - but these pictures are just creepy, to me. They look like someone's thought, "Hm, what do people consider 'romantic'? Let's do that!" and in the third one, where she's straddling him, he looks like a teenage boy trying not to giggle and complain of girl cooties.

Number six looks like someone was taking a tourist shot of the bridge and some obnoxious bastards decided to stand right in the middle of anotherwise lovely photograph.

They do not look like 'candid shots', kids. They look like a little boy trying to convince himself and everyone else he knows what to do with girls. It's fucking grotesque.

Most of you are way too young to understand genuine love, so maybe that's why you mistake these crappysnaps for beautiful manifestations of it, but you're way, way off.

And yes, that is very patronising, but I don't care. It disturbs me to think that you're going to mistake this Hallmark bullshit for the real thing.

That bridge shot looks kind of stupid, though, you're right. XD

I'm not saying anything like I would think they are in ~~~true love~~~ because they took some pretty pictures together, but who knows? Maybe they're in that phase where everything is flowers and rainbows and birds singing before reality settles in. Haha. Some people call it the honeymoon phase, but that makes it sound shorter than it is for some couples.

I guess I'm a hopeless optimist (I'd say romantic but that just doesn't seem to...fit right...here)? ROFL. I'd like to think that maybe Ryan Ross is happy every now and again between bouts of writing very mediocre lyrics and gambling his life away.

LOL as for Ryan being a big homo, I dunno. I mean there's onstage and there's off, and he dresses flamboyantly, but maybe, just maybe, he has a thing for a girl? She does look a bit manish at times..... *snerk*

I had the same reaction when I saw them earlier today. These shots look like the sample pictures that come inside picture frames. Horrible.

I think the pictures are cute and very well taken, but I agree about the whole "true love" thing. I don't buy it, but at least he looks a lot happier than Pete ever does with Ashlee *shrugs* He's young, he'll learn (I should talk, I'm younger than him lawlz xD )

I actually think that Pete and Ashlee's recent pics look much more genuine. At least theirs are genuinely candid.

Of course people look more genuine when they haven't slept in months xD Nah, I've seen a couple that do look sweet (ugh, I admitted it), but 95% of their pics look exactly candidly the same.

Everything about him seems a bit contrived to me but I'm not a big fan either so...
What really bugged me was the comments under the pictures, everyone going on about how he was so influenced by the Beatles and all that. I read an interview not too long ago with their management that talked about how he gave panic a Beatles record while they were working on their new album and they had never even heard the stuff before, that their music background didn't reach much further than third eye blind...just don't try to be something you aren't, you know?

It bothered me that all these kids thought this was true love. The pics look totally devoid of emotion.

Good Lord, thank you for saying all that, honestly. I think they're, okay pictures. Like, style wise, but Ryan and Keltie look so fucking awkward and posed to me, it's ridiculous.
But really, it has nothing to do with them, I just think pictures like this are gross in general. Two of my friends had professional pictures taken with each other and I laughed at them so hard I was crying.
Now, if they had a camera to themselves and was walking around taking them, that might have been cute, but these... no. Just. No.

The angles and the lighting - yes, yes, all very nice - but they look like they've been paid to do this. Just two models who only met on the morning of the shoot (and were badly cast in the first place).

As someone who has had a hell of a lot of professional photos taken of my and my Dave.. (engagement photos and wedding photos) I can see nothing in these ones that looks the same as what you can see in mine and Daves.

We were together for 6 years for the engagement photos and 8 years for the wedding ones. You can see that.

There's something missing from these Ryan/Keltie ones. That sign of love just never seems to reach their eyes and faces.

Well, I mean exactly! In your photos you both look so genuinely happy - the pics themselves are little captured moments and that's very apparent. These are staged. They look like models doing an advertising shoot.
