Okay, so I'm putting my mother hen apron, here, but... meh. I kind of find myself growing uneasy with all the drinking.

I mean, people are making a big deal ("So, this is the first awards ceremony you've been drinking at...") and it's not like it's just occasionally. It's like every time we see him, now.

Someone is being a bad influence, I feel.

I don't have a problem with it, I used to be the same way. As long as the drinking doesn't become more than a social thing and he doesn't become a mess on stage when he's performing (slurring, forgetting words, forgetting how to play), then more power to him.

For example of this see: Travie.

And while I frown upon any drinking, to an extent, I don't like to see the guy publicly off his tits several times in a couple of weeks when he's been almost completely edge since he was fifteen.

That's understandable, totally. If he no longer wants to be edge, I respect that, people change. But my social drinking escalated into a really bad habit and I was a mean, obnoxious drunk (I'm still banned from many places in Toronto) when I got shitfaced every night. Now I know my limits and I rarely drink anyway, mainly because I can't afford it, but I find Patrick drunk amusing and as long as it doesn't become anything more, then I think he'll be okay. Fingers crossed, anyway. And I'm just more concerned about him fucking up his voice than anything else. Because that would be a damn tragedy. :(
