Wow, with fans like those...

They've deleted it now, but the thing is,

icecreamhdaches is a newsfeed blog, where they manually post all news. It's not one person's personal journal, it has over a thousand friends and probably more people watching it. It's probably the best-known one in bandom.

It's communities like that Pete was almost certainly talking about when he asked people not to repost in the first place, because it's where the gossip hacks look.

idg why he'd do a big personal thing online and ask it not to be reposted... like there's just a few close personal friends who have the URL?

Check out the post on TFL and see how many people have already had to ask for the link.

Well yeah, I saw that too, but just 'cause 25 people don't have doesn't mean hundreds of people don't? And isn't giving out the link the same as reposting it? The entry is essentially being passed around to everyone.

The blog is for the fans. His issue is that in the past, gossip columns and music websites have reposted it, and he's had to delete the journal and start all over.

Handing it out to the fans and therefore the people Pete wanted to see it is different from directly ignoring his wishes. They're all being checked, anyway.

when i first saw the TFL post i thought i was missing something special, so asked for a link before thinking, even though, duh, of course i already have the link to his blogspot.

my own bafflement aside that pete has the ability to put such a personal entry out there to so many people, that was probably not ICH's smartest move.

It was just a case of O_o SRSLY?

If they'd posted it and just not noticed his request, it would have been one thing, but she argued her reasons for doing it. :|
