Just signed up to do a Sean/Alex XMFC Big Bang fic. No prompt, really, but I'll probably write his story according to the film - as in, switching the whole thing to his POV. I've been thinking about doing that for a while anyway.

15,000 words is piss easy for me, most of the time. Watch as I now cannot think of a single fucking thing to say.

Things I don't understand about fandom right now:

- The strange and on-going shift into darker and darker and more and more violent/outlandish sexual themes. It's an endless stream of non-con, dub-con, child abuse, domestic abuse, extreme BDSM (which is fine, but seems more abundantly common, lately) and D/s relationships. The latter two can certainly be accepted as kinks rather than the earlier ones and I'm totally cool with that. The point is more that they seem to be much, much more common and explicit in fanfics than they used to be, and I wonder why. What has prompted such an enormous upsurge in stories focusing on rape, abuse, violence and role-played versions thereof? When did that change? Am I the only one who remembers when the height of Teh Shock was Aliens Made Us Do It, We Did It With Aliens and Epic Sex Pollen?

- X-Men: First Class. How - and I am genuinely curious about this - is the pairing comprising A MAN PAINTED RED WITH BAD GREASEPAINT and A MAN WHO HAD NO LINES IN THE FILM WHATSOEVER more popular than the pairing comprising the DELIGHTFULLY DAMAGED BUT RIPPED YOUNG MAN WITH DANGEROUS POWERS and THE ADORABLE SMARTASS WHO CAN FLY BUT CAN'T FLIRT? WTF, fandom. Seriously? What the fuck is that? Also: you realise that after the end of the film Beast doesn't turn back into Nick Hoult, right? So all your three-some fics involve loads of blue, matted, semen-sticky fur, right? Okay.

- And while we're at it: why so little love for Caleb? FUCK YOU LOOK AT HIS FACE.




And when you've stopped laughing at the lengths they've gone to to make his skin look normal after PAINTING OUT HIS FRECKLES, let's note that he's the only main character other than Riptide (does Captain Hot-But-No-Speaking-Role even count?) who didn't make it onto the posters. Nor did he get a Marvel Minimate made of him, even though Havok, Beast, Mystique and even Azazel did. He's the only member of the X-Men who didn't. And he was so excited by the idea of getting to be a redheaded action figure for little redheaded kids to have, too. :*( ( RAGE SPOILERS ) C'MON. WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS SHIT, MARVEL? AND ALSO: FANDOM. GET ON THIS SHIT LIKE SUNBURN ON A GINGER.

It's so strange how people hate us and the way we run sherlockbbc and yet they just can't bring themselves to stay away.

This fandom is destroying my enjoyment of the canon.

I can't stand the vast majority of the users, the quality of writing is deteriorating continually and all my time is dedicated to babysitting total fucking idiots who can't comprehend basic rules.

They flounce around like fourteen year olds when you won't accept their wildly off-topic posts and PM us repeatedly even when asked not to.

I am so fucking sick of it.

The prompt for this post just put me off my breakfast.

My breakfast is a treacle pastry, rendering this turn of events completely unacceptable.

I feel like I'm slacking, not having started my fic, yet.

I haven't really had any inspiration, yet - I've got the ideas, but not the framework. Some of my best fics have come from prompts (see: Hedonism), but those are far from forthcoming, unless I want to write porn. Which, incidentally, I do not.

I'm so exhausted lately, that I barely have the energy to think about these things at all...

God, I need a job with reasonable hours. I get in later now than I did living in London. It takes me longer to get home 1.7miles than it did 6 miles in London. What the shit is this, Brighton?

Plus, the ridiculous migrating joint pain has settled; at all my major joints, but mostly my knees, which now experience a sharp, radiating pain whenever I stand up, sit down or use stairs. Really, it's just in the moment in which pressure is put on the knee to bend at the right angle or take the weight but it is absolutely excruciating. I almost cried trying to get off the sofa and had to hop down the steps on the bus earlier (because at that point, right knee had not set in).

The left knee set in randomly at work this afternoon. Right elbow has been painful for days, but this morning it was so bad I didn't have the control to brush my hair and had to do it left handed.

I swear to God, it's like my body is deliberately fucking with me.

I'm going to go to sleep, if I show signs of stirring, in the morning, please smother me. Thanks.
