They really are. Dan especially. I've always felt that a lot of hardcore fans(or people in general) look down on the marriage of pop punk and hardcore in one band. But as soon as the words hardcore and pop punk came out of his mouth, I was like, Marry me, now. They're all really great though. I'd seen them on FOE and never heard them, now I need some Four Year Strong in my iTunes.
I adore Dan. He seems like the biggest woob. However, I have a secret and slightly creepy crush on Alan (he's like, barely out of his teens), which is weird, because he's tall and skinny and not even a little bit my type. Except I've seen his love handles, and that's always a good start.
But do definitely buy the album. If you're going to pick out a couple of songs or something, my favourites are:
Abandon Ship or Abandon All Hope Bada Bing! Wit' a Pipe! If He's Here, Who's Running Hell? Wrecked 'Em? Damn Near Killed 'Em!
On Bada Bing!, Dan (at least I think it's Dan as he and Alan share the vocals, and Josh screams) does this "...break a sweAaAaAaaat" thing that sounds SO MUCH like Brendon, it's scary.
My love of this band is both huge and awkward. I love them all, especially Josh because when he is not playing the synths or screaming, he hardcore dances. It is hilarious.
I psuedostalked them last summer when they played shows in New York like every other weekend (this is also when Jason Tate from ap.net started pimping them so hard). It was honestly like 4 shows in a 2 month period, which is kind of a lot for a non NYC/Long Island band. I just saw them again with Cobra on the RRRGL tour which was... yeah it was a good night.
Also I really want to make out with their drummer. It is a serious goal I have.

I love their little voices.
New favourite band, for sure.

on 2008-04-02 08:23 am (UTC)At least he looks like he could be 25, anyway. That's something.
I have a feeling that with all the chub I'll end up more of a Dan person, though. He's like a teddy bear.
I wish I lived out there. It sucks being in the UK when all your favourite bands are American.
