Sunday, 9 November 2008 11:14 pmI have not had a cable tv in Chicago for almost 5 months now. I assume to an extent, it's like giving up driving, or smoking (which I'm also currently quitting). Once it's out of your life for good, you realize how damn shitty it is.
GO BABY JOE! I'm so, so glad to hear this.
It's weird how he has suddenly become way more attractive.

Thursday, 10 April 2008 04:11 pmNEW ALBUM OMGOMGOMGOMG!
If Joe's right, and the sounds he's talking about do make the album... fuck will I be happy.
I was into those bands while Joe was writing dorky Shai Hulud reviews on Amazon and proclaiming that he was both straightedge and vegan (so, actually, trusting his predictions is probably unwise).
MORRISEY! MANCHESTER BANDS! SCORE!
Ilu JTroh, I do.

Saturday, 16 February 2008 07:23 pmThe other day I mentioned Iko, who are old friends of mine. Well, they've posted some videos from the other night, and I'm going to share a couple with you:
Harpoon - my favourite Iko song.
Lovestruck - that's me saying "Yeah, yeah..." and giggling. I was hanging out with Ems and Adrian (the singer's dad, who was filming). Kieran messaged me to tell me about it the other day. XD

Tuesday, 8 January 2008 05:59 pmOMG!
likethepaint is the best little sister ever (excluding
shinko, of course).
I got a package in the post today, containing rubber ducky socks (*snickers with the Canadians*), a really cool pen (I always need one to keep in my bag), a notebook and pen (I'm obsessed with stationery) and a Hello Kitty pushpop (CANDY FTW!).
♥
Thank you, hon. xo

Friday, 2 November 2007 12:15 pmWith some help from the lovely
tiny_tear, I have just purchased a video camera (and like 10 mini DV tapes to get me though the Chicago trip, at least for starters).
This is so going to win.
Note: I have no plans to become a video blogger.

Sunday, 28 October 2007 03:40 pmSo, thanks to Gabe, I'm really excited about my holiday and the trip down to St. Louis. It's going to be amazing.
The itinerary is as follows, so far:
21 November, Wednesday: Julie flies in from Waterford, arrives c.10.30pm; I get hair bleached and re-dyed (same as now, but my roots will be fucked)he - my hairdresser is calling me from the airport to tell me she's back in the UK for this, and to set off. Helene wins.
22 November, Thursday: Leave house c.7.45am to reach Heathrow for 9.00am. Fly at 12.15pm. Arrive in Chicago around 3.00pm - on Thanksgiving (right?)! Will anything be open?
23 November, Friday: Drive down to St. Louis (five hours, according to Google), hopefully arriving around 1-2pm. See Cobra Starship/The Academy Is... show. Stay at motel just outside town.
24 November, Saturday: Drive back to Chicago. See the last date of Sleeping With Giants. Aftershow? We have no clue.
25 November, Sunday: No plans for day; getting out tattoos by Jay Redden at The Tattoo Factory, at 10.30pm (I know, right?).
26 November, Monday: MY BIRTHDAY!! Plans only include dinner, so far.
27 November, Tuesday: Last full day in Chicago. Will probably involve shopping.
28 November, Wednesday: Fly home at 5.15pm.
29 November, Thursday: Arrive in London at 6.50am. Sleep. A lot.
30 November, Friday: Hang out.
1 December, Saturday: I can't remember whether this is when Julie flies home or not. But whatever. I'm back at work on the Monday.
If you would like to insert yourself in this intinerary, please let me know! XD At some point we might catch up with another friend over there, but I don't know when he'll be free.
During the holiday, we should both be taking our laptops so you can follow the trip on
bandrdocanada, although it's obviously not Canada, this time.
In conclusion: Eeeeeeeeeee!!!1!!

THE LAW & ORDER PLOT! POMGZ.
Thursday, 25 October 2007 12:32 am'I've been begging forever,' band's frontman says of his guest stint on the drama.
Fall Out Boy frontman Patrick Stump has found himself wrapped up in a murder/kidnapping during a New York blackout. Also, his name isn't "Patrick Stump," it's "Marty Dressler," and he's not the silver-throated lead singer of a multiplatinum rock act, but rather a lowly cubicle-monkey at a local energy company.
Sound like the plot of some rather bizarre bit of FOB fan fiction? Well, yes, but it's also the synopsis of an upcoming episode of NBC's long-running crime-drama "Law & Order" that features Stump as a suspect in a high-profile case.
"The episode is called 'Darkness,' and it involves a kidnapping and murder that takes place during a power outage," NBC spokeswoman Amber James told MTV News. "The wife and daughter of an energy exec are kidnapped, and the housekeeper is murdered, and it turns out Patrick's character works for the executive's company. He has two key scenes in the interrogation room and another scene where he's in the court room, being prosecuted. ... He's completely out of character. It has nothing to do with his band or him being a musician."
Fans interested in finding out Stump's fate will have to wait until February, when the episode is tentatively scheduled to air ("L&O" will return for its 18th season in January).
In the meantime, you don't have to worry about Stump turning his attention away from Fall Out Boy. He swears that the band — which is currently crisscrossing the country on its Young Wild Things Tour — is his first, second and really, only priority. But he's always been a "Law & Order" nut, and when the opportunity to appear on the show came up, he had to take it.
"I've been begging forever, 'cause I'm just a fan," he told MTV News. "Somehow they let me do it."
---
I am so pleased for this kid, seriously. I know how pleased he must have been to get a role that wasn't just playing himself with a different name...
(And I bet Joe's not so down on the showm now, either!)
