My stepsister booked her lessons in blocks and got them cheap - actually, she stole the first block off my stepbrother who decided after two lessons that he didn't want to learn, even though my stepdad paid for them, because he's a prize chump. I think they were still something like £20 for each hour though.
What always stuns me with driving is the amount of really intelligent people who fail their test while people like my stepsister - who isn't exactly the shiniest apple on the tree - pass first time. Though the sadist in me cannot wait to hear the family tales about my youngest stepsister learning to drive in a year or so...
