So - all these little shitty envelope openings shop signings Pete's doing lately: why are they all described as opportunities to 'hang out' with Pete? They're not hanging out with Pete. Do they involve watching dated 80s films, pizza, and uncomfortable reminiscing about the most embarrassing thing that ever happened in high school? Do they involve shooting fireworks at people on minibikes? Do you actually get to go anywhere? Is it in any way something you'd do with a friend (wait in line for three hours for them to give you a funny look while you gush incoherently and they distractedly scribble something on a piece of tat that might, sort of, look almost vaguely like their name if you squint - in the dark - and then get ushered back out again by a big bald dude called Marcus, with no sense of humour and a baseball cap)?

Not last time I hung out with my friends (actually, that involved sitting on my bed reading fanfic on our respective laptops and mocking people).

Also: has anyone started the countdown to the day when even the autograph touts aren't leeching his ink because, basically, he's SIGNED EVERYTHING IN EXISTENCE EVER?

It is a bleak and near future, my friends. Bleak and near.

I feel like that's pretty much what hanging out with Pete would actually end up being--lots of laptops and fic and mocking.

people who can make me laugh with their lj entries have a special place in my heart. (there are two so far.) you can occupy a spot.

& this is why i will never bother getting stuff signed post-gig or at signings. *sigh* so fucking pointless. & wow. a scrap of paper with a signature. yes, yes this means the world to me, because so much love obviously went into it & it's obviously like. unique.

I used to be big on autographs when I was younger, now I'm rather indifferent. In Toronto, I used to see and meet celebrities all the time (they always shopped at the store where I worked), but we weren't allowed to ask for autographs, and I never would have anyway.

I've only ever asked someone for an autograph twice, and I felt like an ass both times. And I've only been to one meet & greet ever. It was for Hanson, of all bands, in 1997, and we weren't allowed to get anything signed. Go figure. :)

Having said that though, I'd totally want Patrick to sign something just so I'd have an excuse to touch him ;) I'm such a loser, hahaha. :)

That was fun. There's just so much to mock out there...

two things: i hate when those newsletters that say "come hang out with pete!" not even the ock's get a long meet and greet or hang time in. it's slightly funny when people get their hopes up and then i read posts about how the signing was 30 seconds long for each person when they saw pete.

secondly, i saw someone get a troh tattoo and yours is definitely better. plus, yours is for all of the right reasons and hers reasons are very creepy.
