So - all these little shitty envelope openings shop signings Pete's doing lately: why are they all described as opportunities to 'hang out' with Pete? They're not hanging out with Pete. Do they involve watching dated 80s films, pizza, and uncomfortable reminiscing about the most embarrassing thing that ever happened in high school? Do they involve shooting fireworks at people on minibikes? Do you actually get to go anywhere? Is it in any way something you'd do with a friend (wait in line for three hours for them to give you a funny look while you gush incoherently and they distractedly scribble something on a piece of tat that might, sort of, look almost vaguely like their name if you squint - in the dark - and then get ushered back out again by a big bald dude called Marcus, with no sense of humour and a baseball cap)?

Not last time I hung out with my friends (actually, that involved sitting on my bed reading fanfic on our respective laptops and mocking people).

Also: has anyone started the countdown to the day when even the autograph touts aren't leeching his ink because, basically, he's SIGNED EVERYTHING IN EXISTENCE EVER?

It is a bleak and near future, my friends. Bleak and near.

I feel like that's pretty much what hanging out with Pete would actually end up being--lots of laptops and fic and mocking.

But possibly not writing on all your stuff in Sharpie.

...actually, having said that...

people who can make me laugh with their lj entries have a special place in my heart. (there are two so far.) you can occupy a spot.

& this is why i will never bother getting stuff signed post-gig or at signings. *sigh* so fucking pointless. & wow. a scrap of paper with a signature. yes, yes this means the world to me, because so much love obviously went into it & it's obviously like. unique.

I have had members of Fall Out Boy sign two things:

1. an Infinity on High armband. But only because it meant Patrick had to hold my hand and I conned a hug.

2. a packed of XO Ramen noodles. Which made Pete laugh and Andy very, very confused.

Also: aww, thanks, dude. XD

both kind of awesome instances. & hey, i've had things signed before. from a little band in a little place where they hung out at the bar after in a loose & groovy fashion. i just avoid hanging out after gigs for paper-waving purposes. just not my idea of a most enjoyable time. :D i would like to see andy's confused face.

Oh man, Andy was brilliant. I put the ramen in front of him and said, "Hello, how are you?" all cheery-like and he just stared at them. Then, eventually, said, "I'm fine...thank you."

I think he may have realised I had his number one fan tattooed on my wrist, as well, though.

If I found out that someone had [livejournal.com profile] shinko tattooed on their wrist I would lol.

[livejournal.com profile] shinko is this kid who started fangirling me when she was about fourteen. Four years later, she's like my little sister and I love her immensely.

The picture doesn't do him justice.

And Evie is lovely and awesome. You should add her. I totally just hooked her up with [livejournal.com profile] likethepaint as well.

I used to be big on autographs when I was younger, now I'm rather indifferent. In Toronto, I used to see and meet celebrities all the time (they always shopped at the store where I worked), but we weren't allowed to ask for autographs, and I never would have anyway.

I've only ever asked someone for an autograph twice, and I felt like an ass both times. And I've only been to one meet & greet ever. It was for Hanson, of all bands, in 1997, and we weren't allowed to get anything signed. Go figure. :)

Having said that though, I'd totally want Patrick to sign something just so I'd have an excuse to touch him ;) I'm such a loser, hahaha. :)

Hahaha. Patrick's awesome. He'd be so willing to do that anyway.

That was fun. There's just so much to mock out there...

two things: i hate when those newsletters that say "come hang out with pete!" not even the ock's get a long meet and greet or hang time in. it's slightly funny when people get their hopes up and then i read posts about how the signing was 30 seconds long for each person when they saw pete.

secondly, i saw someone get a troh tattoo and yours is definitely better. plus, yours is for all of the right reasons and hers reasons are very creepy.

http://www.friendsorenemies.com/web/foe/users/whorelol/ view at your own risk. if you read the entries you're bound to get a laugh then fear for joe's life a bit.

Oh man. That's... oh man.

Also, have you seen the portrait of Patrick that someone got tattooed on them?

It's... not done by the most talented tattooist ever, shall we say?

scary stuff, right? especially this line: So, as anyone who pays attention to me knows, I'm in love with Joe Trohman. And not the 'omg he's so cute lol. but i have 5 other bfs lol.' it's "Yeah, I don't date because I'm in love with Joe Trohman and you're not worthy." Sometimes I feel he should get a restraining order because I've written a death threat to his girlfriend before (I didn't send it, but it's written.)

hahaha oh God, no i haven't seen that! where on their body did they get it done? do you have a link by any chance?

It just got uploaded on the tattoo parlour.

And HOLY SHIT. Someone warm Marcus. The only reason that girl didn't send the death threat is probably because she doesn't have the address, man.

i have to go check that out. poor girl.

i know! it's fucking insane. i noticed her account one day when there was a picture of joe and marie on buzznet and she commented saying she had killed marie. after that i looked at everything she had posted and i felt bad for both joe and marie. it's sad that crazies like that come along with fame.

I know, dude. That 'tattoo' actually appears to have been drawn on with biro, though. I suspect it isn't even real, or it'd be on the Tattoo Parlour.

Posted by [identity profile] theglory.livejournal.com
i don't think it's real, either. i'd hope nobody would get a tattoo like that for a celebrity. i understand yours, or lyrics, or something else to signify it but the last name just weirds me out for some reason. do you have to submit to get it into the parlor?

Yeah - it's just posting it to the group.

hmm maybe she hasn't posted it into the group. either way, i hope she doesn't. i'd be way creeped out if someone did that with my last name and posted the things she did about joe
