rosiedoesSo, there's another attention-seeking, "Come post in my journal!" meme going around, and there's no way in a million years that I'm posting it there, so here are my ten unshakeable things about me that I love:
1. I take no shit from no fucker, ever. People waste too much of their time caring what other people think of them, and freaking out over what other people say. Well, SCREW THAT. If people don't like my opinions, they can ignore them.
2. Once people have got past the fact that I take no shit from no fucker, ever, they often realise I'm one of the most dependable friends they will ever have. I'm the Universal Shoulder. Everyone comes to me with their angst, and I'm happy to help. I like being there for my friends and doing my best to give rational advice. You can't always dig people out of holes yourself, but trying to give them the instructions on how to do so costs nothing.
3. I can really, actually tie a cherry stem in a knot with my tongue. It has gotten me nowhere in life, but it sounds kinky.
4. I care a lot about strangers; which is why I run across busy high roads to get covered in other people's blood. I don't give a fuck if you think I'm "batshit crazy" because I happen to disagree with The Gospel of Wentz, but if you start dying in front of me I'll risk life and limb to put you in the recovery position.
5. I'm really strong and independent - I've had to learn to be since I left home, but I was always a very responsible kid. That doesn't mean things don't freak me out, sometimes, but I get through it because I know that I'm responsible for myself and I have been since I was eighteen. In fact, in many ways you could say I have been all my life.
6. I love that I get insanely involved in my hobbies or interests. I've always been the same. Like the fact I have a Kyle Broflovski fake driving license in my wallet and Joe Troh tattooed on my wrist. It's all just fun and games and I want to remember what I was into at this point in my life. I don't believe in regret but I do believe in being passionate about everything you do in life - otherwise there's no point doing it.
7. I look quite cute in hats.
8. I have superpowers. I can see dead people, the future, the past and blow up electrical equipment without even touching it. It'd be weird if it hadn't always been there. Most of the time I'm pretty sceptical myself, but even the stuff I've doubted I've later had verified. O_o They should dedicate an episode of Paranormal Borderline to me or something.
9. I'm pretty damn badass. I'm deceptively strong, physically, I don't mind getting muddy or dirty and I'll probably take you in a fight. I'm a very real tomboy. I want to play with guns and planes and run around in the dark in combat gear like I did when I was a kid. If I had people to do it with, I still would.
10. My sexuality isn't my entire persona. I'm bi, yes I am. Bi in a very balanced and genuine sense - none of that Tila Tequila bollocks - but it's an incidental thing, rather than being something that I shape my entire life around. I've met people over the years whose entire character seemed to be one enormous, garish, rainbow thong and a buzzcut (and those were the women) - which is fair enough if that's who you are - but for me, being a smart-arsed, obsessive compulsive music geek with an obsession with Chicago... and boys being gay all over each other... is much more interesting that who I'm interested in fucking. Let's be honest: not one person who knows me in real life (or here, for that matter) gives a shit who I'm interested in sleeping with, as long as I write about boys doing it.
Edit: Oh - and I also have magical powers for getting people to write their first slash fic.
