Two pieces of news: I have a temping job at a fundraising company and I'm being put forward for a permanent role as a PA.

And I just paid someone to shove two enormous needles in my ears so I now have 4mm plugs. The needle looked scarier than it was.

Congrats on the job, even if it is only temping at the moment. At least there's a prospect there - fingers crossed that one works out.

Thanks, dude. The money is epically shit, but it'll keep me ticking over.

The plugs will go up to 8 or 10mm - not huge, but big enough.

Shit money is better than no money, and we all know it's easier to get a job when you actually have one...my self-centred reason for doing voluntary work.

8-10mm sounds pretty cool actually. I see the really huge ones and honestly, I just think 'Why?!?!' I'm thinking of getting a scaffold piercing on my right ear - I already have a Pinna piercing on my left one. Might see if I can find a decent piercing place and get it done in NYC.

Yeah, I hate the enormous ones, although I did see a couple that had computer chips in them today, and those were amazing.

It did hurt, but when you've had a tattoo that took three hours it's not so bad. The needle looked fucking horrible, though.

The money really, really sucks, but it's something for now.

Ju and I both love it down here, but we'd love it more if we found decent jobs... I'm being put forward for a much better role, so hopefully it'll work out and I won't be here too long, or they'll take me on as a permanent member of staff and give me good money.

We figured you'd be pretty busy with school, but we're definitely up for hanging out. Anywhere you have in mind?
