Is anyone else just... really kind of embarrassed for 50 Cent?

He's replacing METRO STATION on a bill supporting Fall Out Boy. Obviously, I love FOB, but on a scale of how successful that dude seems to see himself and what level of credibility this support spot has... just... Oh dear.

Aren't even Cobra Starship above him on the bill?

I mean, this guy pretty much thinks he's the top dog, doesn't he?

And yet... if they're doing that rotation, he could end up second on the bill above Hey Money and below Cobra and ATL.

Isn't he a rapper? What's he doing at FOB show to begin with?

Hah. Yeah, he is.

They've been dicking around with hip-hop for ages, though, and because they say they like hip-hop all the fangirls pretend to like hip-hop (some probably do genuinely like it, but most of them wouldn't give a shit if it wasn't that FOB liked it).

The only artist close to that genre that I actually like is Kanye West, personally...

But no matter how you look at it, 50 Cent does not fit on that bill on any level, and not just because he's a hip-hop artist.

Seriously.

50 Cent must be penniless.

If he was bored he'd start a feud with someone, not play third fiddle to a bunch of kids in girls' jeans.

Please tell me this is a rumor. Please? PLEASE!?

I love rap, I really do..but 50? Oh hell no. I rather see that slot filled with Gym Class Heroes. They are a rap group, but a group probably the fans are more familiar with and have more of an audience. Not 50.

Pete said it himself in a Twitter. Whether that constitutes proof or not, you decide.

But oh my God, why?

Not so much embarrassed but fearful for his life

Has he not learnt anything from Leeds?

It's at the US shows, but still.

What happened at Leeds?

I'm just hoping he won't be at any of the dates I'm going to. Not because I don't like his music, I actually kind of do- but so I won't have to listen to people complaining about it while waiting in line. Heck, people complained about Tyga opening for them at the FAD release show in NYC, and he's Travis' cousin.

I don't think anyone cares who Tyga is related to, dude, it's about the music.

The majority of kids going to a rock show just aren't going to enjoy hip-hop acts. Some will, of course, but for the majority, it's just not to their tastes and to have to stand around for 40 minutes listening to an artist they'd normal switch stations on, it's a bit of an excitement killer.

When I went to the HCT in Chicago, in 2007, they brought out Lupe Fiasco to play a set - in the middle of Fall Out Boy's set - and while I have nothing against Lupe Fiasco (except that he needs to pull his trousers up) after spending a whole day in scorching sun the last thing I, or anyone around me, wanted was to have yet more music we weren't interested in forced upon to before we could have the rest of our FOB set.

I think the thing is, when it comes to crossing genres in a line up so severely, it's going to bum people out because chances are, they're just not going to enjoy it.

Completely agree. I don't mind 50 Cent as an artist. Not my type of music at all but I'm a live and let live type of person but 50 Cent AT AN FOB SHOW!

I get bored listening to people I don't know in general and by the time the main band gets on, I just want to go home. I am very thankful that 50 Cent isn't playing at any of my shows. I have never been more happy to have Metro Station at the shows I am going too!!

I get the impression from videos and things that 50 Cent is embarrassed for 50 Cent.
