Once I can figure out how to make my DW account pretty, it'll be cross-posting time for me. I'm done standing exclusively by a company who doesn't give a shit about what their users think.
Well they've been pushing sponsored accounts hard since they first started, which is the lowest level to get customised comment pages at. I can see a lot of people leaving LJ over this. It's not like people haven't been leaving in droves for years, especially since DW arrived.
I can't remember how, but there is a way to have your stuff transferred to DW...maybe it is in the FAQ somewhere. I back up my icons regularly and found the easiest thing to do is just save the page as a complete webpage - a couple of clicks and all done.
Yeah, the icon upload over there is so much better. Just think how much better LJ would have been if instead of chasing the DW folks off, they'd have employed them.
On another note, a friend just left a load of communities on DW pertaining to styles over there on a post I made asking for such information, in case you're interested.
I'm just going to stick to twitter. So no worries, you have me there. (I mainly moved there in the first place. I haven't been posting in ages). Because, wow. Way to not listen to your customers and go do something because you think "it's great!"
The only thing I do like is the new icon drop box. Other than that 'WHY THE FACEBOOK AND NEW GOOGLE ESTHETIC? THE NEW GOOGLE ESTHETIC THAT SUCKKKKKSS?!"
I don't like the new Google or Facebook looks, either, they're fucking awful. It's like all the websites have collaborated to make the internet look even more shit.
I haven't really posted here in a long time - my friends all seem to have disappeared, with the exception of one or two, but I need somewhere to host my fanfic. I'm not keen on putting it in collected archives. In time, I might create my own website for it, but right now, I can't afford the domain.

on 2011-12-21 01:33 pm (UTC)From what I've seen, it seems like their intention with this is to get everyone to pay to get some of the functionality back.
