Oh I know the feeling! I want to go on holiday in April, but none of my friends can go then.
It'll sound odd, but I've never been to Vancouver before. I've just heard (and seen) how wonderful it is, and I'm a bit of an adventurous sort, so I've a tendency to Just Decide to do stuff. With so many friends saying how much they'd like to live there, as well, I can't see it being unpleasant!
I can always come home if I change my mind.
I work for St. John Ambulance at the moment, so I might be able to persuade St. John Canada to give me a temporary placement in one of their Vancouver centres - if I'm lucky.
