BRITS: PICK YOUR BISCUIT!

Yesterday, Jay made the gross accusation that British biscuits are plain (and therefore boring) and pale in comparison with cookies.

Of course, I had to rise to the challenge and defend the humbly bickie, so I'm sending him some.

So far, I plan on sending the following:

Caramel Digestives
Chocolate Hobnobs
Gingernuts
Chocolate Bourbons
Jammie Dodgers
Party Rings
Scotch Shortbread

The question is, am I missing any essentials (don't suggest Custard Creams, though, because they're foul)?

Pimp your snack, people!

I'd rather have a nice ginger biscuit over a cookie any day.

I miss Jammie Dodgers, they were awesome.

I was rather unnerved by this post as I've been meaning to post something similiar for days.

(Am sending a care package to the US and wanted to include some typical British biscuits.)

Most of the ones mentioned are on my list, but I'd also add "pink wafers". And garibaldis.

I've never seen Malted Milks as being that British, though. Aren't they from the continent, somewhere?

Chocolate Hobnobs are my FAVORITE THING EVER. I met them 9 years ago on my first trip to London, and I brought several packages home with me in July :)

Yummm. Maybe I will have one for breakfast.

The carmamel part sounds good.. The digestive part does not.

They're awesome. Seriously.

They're sweet, but you can also eat them with CHEESE!

Oh, I've never had British Biscuits, but I've had American Biscuits and they left much to be desired. As for cookies...we have Girl Scout cookies. Have you ever had a Samoa? Holy shit, Dude. I'm going to have to side with Jay on this one.

Do pink wafers count? Definately with the fig roll loving, and cadbury's chocolate shortcake biscuits. Mostly bourbons and chocolate hobnobs are the best biscuits known to man, IMO. Fuck cookies right in the chocolate chips- the whole point of biscuits is to stuff a whole packet AND be able to dip them in your tea. Cookies are rubbish for the latter and I feel a bit sick if I try to eat more than one. It's a desert, damnit, not a snack! OH! Penguins!

PENGUINS!

I thought about those earlier. And pink wafers ming. There will be no pink wafers.

I'm torn on pink wafers. Like, they're icky, but I eat them because they're pink which is a novelty in a biscuit... I'm with you on the custard creams though.

you can get at least half/most of those in the states. what, oddly enough, you cannot get? plain hobnobs. i effing looooove plain hobnobs and they are nowhere to be found, not even at scottish/british shops or at highland games here. it makes me so sad. i desperately miss hobnobs, paprika crisps and Bilar (swedish marshmellow cars which are like crack theyre so addictive)
