Modern music is really starting to piss me off. Mostly, because it isn't actually modern. Q TV has just played:

The Last Shadow Puppets - who clearly think they're the new The Jam and apparently still living in about 1962. Then they played the Ting Tings, who are frankly just shitty, sub-Blonie bollocks in ugly tights. And then they killed it off with Black Kids (of whom just one is black, and in fact, he looks more Māori than anything) and who aren't just influenced by The Cure, they may as well be poor-man's covers band.

Oh, HAI, The Kooks and your shitty late-70s pseudo pop.

Oh, and now Alphabeat are on, and they sound like Elton John being spanked by Madonna in 1984.

We've been listening to the radio at work a lot more lately. We are cleared to listen to this one station that prides itself on playing "10,000 songs before you ever hear a commercial!" Which would be great if it weren't the same 50 songs with the random early 90's throwback every now and then.

XC And a lot of the music is just stupid.

But I do smile when the new Vanessa Carlton single comes on, because I really like it. Everything else can kiss my sass, though.
