So... does anyone who feels proactive about the ship and has great ideas for potential challenges and ways to get people involved, want to become a co-mod on trohslashstump?


Unfortunately, Lin has decided to move on to other fandom exploits and doesn't have much time for it anymore. It's not a busy comm, per se, but it takes someone who actually cares, to put together challenges which will receive two entries if you're lucky.

Drop me a comment if you're interested. I want to get a challenge underway in the next 48 hours to back up the ship manifesto.

In what respect? If you take a look here you'll see all the challenges we've posted in the past... A lot of thought has gone into some of them, but most of the time you will get virtually (in fact, literally) no response.

No, dude - it needs to be something more like this which is what I just posted.

A single pic doesn't really inspire a lot of different scenarios. You have to give people a broader spectrum to work with. In the past we've done, 'Bad pick up lines', which was followed up by 'First date', and then we had challenges where people gave us three numbers, 1-15, and we had three secret lists (a quote, a picture and a word) numbered 1-15. We gave them the prompts a corresponding with the number they chose.

It worked pretty well, except so few people bothered to write the stories once they had the prompts.

Uh. I've had this thing floating around my head for a while.

Write a fic about:
Strawberries covered in chocolate sauce.

My general idea about that, or at least what I'd though of:
They could already be in a relationship. Or they're not and Joe's high and has this crazy idea of feeding Patrick chocolate strawberries, at like 2. A.M. So he gets some (buys them, or rings room service, or he has some in his pocket, you decide), and starts pestering Patrick. Who's working on his mactop and is thinking: WTF?

Joe manages to persuade him but ends up dripping the chocolate (hot sauce? or perhaps lukewarm-ish sauce) on Patrick. (or on his mac if you want them to argue)

Patrick gets prissy. And joe, being high, licks it off.

And then you can eh, be creative and end it, or continue an epic romance or whatever you want.

Like, don't like? I feel dirty now...

Thanks, but that's not what I really meant, either. This is what I went with.

The point is for it to be a challenge that will inspire a lot of people, who will have different takes from it, rather than an actual fic prompt.
