From the Washington Post:

McCain Wins Debate

Although the fate of tonight's presidential debate in Mississippi remains very much up in the air, John McCain has apparently already won it -- if you believe an Internet ad an astute reader spotted next to this piece in the online edition of the Wall Street Journal this morning.

"McCain Wins Debate!" declares the ad which features a headshot of a smiling McCain with an American flag background. Another ad spotted by our eagle-eyed observer featured a quote from McCain campaign manager Rick Davis declaring: "McCain won the debate-- hands down."

Here's the screenshot.

----

What a total douchebag.

I agree that he's a douchebag. But I'm not sure those ads went out on purpose. His campaign was probably sloppy about the time they wanted the ads to be released. Unless they were just being stupid, which is far more stupid than I thought they could be, which says a lot because WTF Sarah Palin?

I'n sure Obama has something similar. Or maybe he doesn't because he's been accused of being arrogant so that wouldn't look good for him.

Well, that, and I think that even if he does have similar ads, he'll wait until the results are released to put them up anywhere.

I think McCain's people probably didn't mean to put them out early. Even if he is that arrogant it's a really stupid thing to do politically.

That could be true. It's just shitty too, because it makes him look like an even bigger douche.

Right?

The thing is I'm pretty sure McCain isn't a huge douchebag. He's just a Republican. I mean, I'm pretty sure if you walked by him and made eye contact he'd smile at you and tell you your kid was cute if you had one.

It's just that politics make people bigger douchebags. Because you have a whole bunch of douchebags carving your image out of douche.

In all honesty, any candidate, douchebag or not, would probably do that.. I mean, if a kid's cute, a kid's cute. You know what I mean? I'm not saying you're outright wrong, that McCain would never say my kid was cute, I'm just saying that as a political candidate, he's not exactly who I'd want leading my country.

I'm sure they're all nice guys, or at least can be in a public setting, ties off, sleeves rolled up...

A simple turn of the wheel can direct people to take the left fork in the road or the right fork in the road.

Right now, McCain's really good at directing people to the left, or making them slam right into the tree.

...Wow, what a crap analogy that was. Haha. Sorry. Sort of talking out of my ass.

I think he's just a nice old man with bad politics, basically. And even though I never considered voting for him, he has gone further to the right as the campaign has moved along.

Meanwhile I'm not sure Obama would look the other direction if I walked by. Even though he has great politics and is good with the press. Admittedly, this could be because he comes across with an air of education about him and I always think really educated people think I'm stupid, which is probably because my father is on his fourth degree. =D

I think Obama would strike up a good conversation and then offer you coffee, and sit down and chat. Flashing that badass smile. :D

HAHAHA. Oh, to dream.

Really I'm just bitter over Hillary losing. She was my pick, and I know she let it go on far too long and it got ugly, but I liked her and they had basically the same campaign, except there were a few things about her that I liked more. Like getting rid of No Child Left Behind and the fact that she's one of the driving forces behind the reason my little cousins that my mom has custody of have health care.

So I can't go all Obama crazy. But I'm not stupid enough not to vote for him.

He has BA's in Journalism and History, an MA in History, and he just passed his test for his PhD in History. He just has his disertation, which will be about 350 pages about the local paper that he writes for.

If he can't even get his people to manage and ad campaign - with a QUOTE in it, saying he "won", which is false because it hasn't even taken place, yet, and therefore a clear lie - how can he run a country?

I definitely am anti-McCain as far as president goes.

I think he needs to sit down on a park bench somewhere and take his grand kids out for ice cream.
