I find it really hard to feel sympathetic toward Joe for being ill when Andy is hinting that he's stoned off his tits just a few days after apparently being ill enough to receive intravenous steroids.

Fuck 'get well soon', Trohman, how about 'give up soon'? Unless you have MS, you are not helping yourfuckingself, you moron.

I know, dude. It pisses me off SO MUCH. Jesus.

How can people seriously think this is a good thing?

I have some stoners on my flist who are totally delusional about the habit, to the degree where I want to punch them or just defriend them altogether. It shows a total lack of intelligence, for me.

I don't think it's a good thing.

I laugh because I thought it was Andy cracking a joke, and I'm sorry my sense of humor is the way it is.

Drug abuse is never a laughing matter for me.

It is seriously uncool. I can't believe how many people are 'lol, awesome!' about this.

So he's not sick?
Just stoned out of his mind?
I was wondering why he never smiles anymore..

Oh, he probably is sick - but he's probably not helping himself by taking drugs and smoking normal cigarettes the rest of the time.

I thought he quit smoking or was that more just a brief thing?

Could have been but I could have sworn it was something official but it lasted like...a month or so. Though those suckers are hard to quit. You think you're getting along fine without them before a month later and suddenly your body is like "I NEED A FUCKING CIGGERATE!!!1 BUY A PACK!!!! HAVE SOME NIGHT SWEATS AND FIVE BILLION HEADACHESSS!!!!" Pot I'm less worried about because you can only get a mental addiction and those don't cause bodily harm but nicotine? *shudders*

I'm so happy that hasn't happened to me right now. A month free! :)

You haven't studied the effect of pot much, I take it?

It's linked to schizophrenia. Once in your system it can take a month to dissipate, but it doesn't diminish it just builds up like a game of Tetris. It makes people paranoid. It's drawn deeper into the lungs and therefore does have a serious risk of causing lung cancer, even if it doesn't have as many chemicals as the shop-bought cigarettes do.

I don't buy it for a second. Repeatedly inhaling any smoke is not going to be good for you. And that is a tiny portion of smokers, from the same area, presumably smoking a fairly similar strain, as they are from the same part of the world.

If the study had covered a much larger number of smokers and non-smokers and covered a greater portion of the globe, rather than one city, it might carry some weight. But this study means next to nothing.

I'm very aware of schizophrenia. but I'm talking about physical withdrawal symptoms, not the side effects of smoking it.

Quitting pot is easier to do than quitting cigarettes because there is little to no physical withdrawal symptoms, because you normally just have a mental dependency on it. Where as cigarettes, alcohol, and a bunch of other drugs can make you sick and can even kill you because your body got rid of the drug and it so used to it that it physically needs it.

Its bad to be addicted to anything, but as for quitting pot is more of a walk in the park than say, quitting alcohol or heroin.

I don't really see your point.

Wow - he must have nearly had pneumonia or something equally nasty going on in his lungs to need intravenous steroids. I was on one of the highest doses you can get (pill-wise) this summer for a nasty bout of bronchitis. I'm sure that pot smoke - or smoke of any kind for that matter - is SO beneficial for him right now. *rolls eyes*

I wonder if the steroids made him moody as all crap like they did me. It took me a week of crying and moping around to finally figure out why I was feeling that way.

He seemed fine when I saw him - usually he's a bit shy with fans but he ended up taking much longer than any of the others to sign stuff and was quite chatty. That was the day they arrived back in England.
