I'm getting tattooed tomorrow! The Four Year Strong lyrics I've wanted for ages. I have the consultation in the morning, and should be doing it in the afternoon, mostly courtesy of Julie (and Matte!) who bought me gift vouchers for my birthday next week (I wanted the tattoo done before the day, because that's when I'm seeing the band).

It will basically be this, but in the common ribbon/banner form you would find in typical Americana.

The jumpwings are already there, obviously:

The original line is, "Tonight we save the world, today we have to save ourselves" but I wanted to make it slightly more concrete and positive, as in keeping with the rest of my tattoos, in case anyone was wondering.

This is the song: MANIAC (R.O.D.)

That's awesome, Rosie. With this addition, how many tattoos will you have?

(P.S. I think that I'll be getting my first over January break.)

As of tomorrow, I'll have nine over all.

What are you getting for the tattoo, now?

Nine! Wow, that's awesome.

I'm thinking a semi-colon.

Yeah. I have a lot of other ideas, but I figure that I should start small and see how I handle it (I have an immense fear of needles, you know, in my flesh). A semi-colon is small and meaningful and I like how it looks. I'm just trying to decide on what font- I'm thinking that I'll go with Times because that's what all our books are published in.

Why a semi-colon, though?

And when you go for the tattoo you won't think of it as a needle at all. It looks like this for a start:

Yeah, I know. I've been to the parlor with friends and I've watched them have theirs done and it still kind of turned my stomach.

As for the why- there are a couple of different reasonings. I'm an English major, want to be a writer and semi-colons connect sentences. So if I get it where I'm thinking I want it, it would be a connector of people too. My friends laugh when I tell them that, but hey. It might not have a significant memory behind it, but it represents something that I am now.

Well, that's equally important. It doesn't have to be a memory - it's just about you.
