Oh, bandom. I'm facepalming so hard at you right now.

This bullshit is going to do nothing except - if it gets any acknowledgement whatsoever - make Fall Out Boy fans look like bigger tossers than we're already taken for and result in the gosshit mongers claiming that Pete is getting his fans to start a vendetta against the magazine because he doesn't like how he's portrayed.

He is the one who will get more shit for the fans' behaviour and made to look like even more of a villain. Smart. That's totally going to help and make him want to come back to the internet, isn't it?

Grow up.

If this article is taken so far out of context, how come it's largely things they've said before and didn't complain about then? Patrick probably leaves the band on a weekly basis when he throws a tantrum. Andy is ridiculously obsessed with the Packers and has a huge temper; he's not nuts (well, alright - maybe a little bit, in a lovable way), but I don't think it was ever meant to be taken that seriously. Pete wasn't portrayed all that badly, really - no worse than in any other article and especially not in his interaction with Ashlee; that was adorable - and Joe has ALWAYS been this little emo thing. Go read his ancient teenage posts where he wants to Nair his face and complains that nobody wants to date him because he's too nice. He's always been adorably neurotic. I do feel really bad for him that he apparently feels that way about the band - the comments on AP.net should be evidence enough that we think he's amazing - and I've been saying he was getting a raw deal for nearly two years. But maybe this, if nothing else, will hold up that mirror that says, "Yeah, okay - maybe we need to take a look at how we do things around here." If AP is anything to go by, Joe and Patrick have already had that conversation and are working on it.

The kid deserves more credit and more of a chance to be involved, end of story.

Is it the best article ever written? No. Is writing to KANYE FUCKING WEST going to help? No. It's going to make you, me, Pete and everyone else look like a complete prat.

Just chill out. Pete is sulking; he'll be back. He always is. John Mayer is probably cuddling him as we speak.

Seriously. UNNECESSARY DRAMZ. Pls to be stopping nao.

Pete and Andy bitched about the Blender article. Pete's flouncing off the internet and fans have created a community and a petition to boycott the magazine. They're flailing around like idiots and talking about going to Perez, (That's Enough) John Mayer, Kanye West and other people about what was "taken out of context" by Blender and is apparently "gross defamation".

:|

Because, y'know: everything said in that interview is so fake THE BOYS HAVE BEEN QUOTED AS SAYING IT BEFORE. What is this? Journo hive mind? Or selective memory?

Everyone needs to chill out, call the journalist a douche and move on, man, seriously.

Wow, a community, really? :|

I read the article and I guess I'm in the minority of thinking it wasn't complete bull. I think the journalist was an ass in the way he said some things, but I honestly don't believe that all of it isn't true. Did it make me sad, yeah, because it sucks that they seemed to be unhappy, especially Joe.

And I certainly didn't need all the quotes from John Mayer. I like him, but I don't care what he has to say about Pete.

THANK YOU. Me too.

Personally, I think the biggest problem is that maybe, just maybe this was all a little too close to home.

I'm updating the entry now with further thoughts.

Maybe so, because I can't seeing all of that coming out of nowhere, you know?

The thing about Patrick quitting - I had it in my head already. When I read, "secret breakup" my first thought was, "It was probably Patrick." I see people saying that if something happens and they breakup, it'll be Pete's doing, because he has all these other things going on, not to mention a wife and baby now. But I've never thought it would be because of Pete, I've always thought Patrick.

Yeah, I would believe him or Joe, personally.

But I think Joe's too loyal to the others to want to do that. Patrick's the one who'd eventually snap and say, "SCREW YOU GUYS, I'M GOING HOME."

I don't think this needed to be blown up into this level of flailing. No where near so.

Yeah, I was thinking that about Joe too. I also don't really see how his words were taken out of context? He did start Fall Out Boy and should definitely get more credit for it. His part of the article pretty much broke my heart.

Ha, I could see Patrick doing that. And I'm not gonna lie, when that day comes, and he goes solo, I'll buy his stuff. Although, I don't want that to happen anytime soon.

That is EXACTLY what I thought about Joe, too. There's nothing there that can be taken out of context, unless it was 100% fabricated. I totally feel for Joe, because he really is the one who is pushed to the background; that's just fact. And he's such an amazing musician but he doesn't have nearly as much chance to show that as the others do. I know he had more input on this album, but he should never have had to ask for it, y'know? But that - from the AP article as well as this one - is really how it seems to have been.

He's a pretty passive little dude, if the people I know who know him are anything to go by, and I trust them implicitly in their judgement of him; Joe is a push-over. He's the kind of person who won't really say anything in his own defense and probably only really made hints about feeling left out - which nobody really noticed. It may not have really been the rest of the band's fault, but Joe being taken for granted and left out of decisions and writing is not something I find it hard to believe, here.

I can totally see Joe being like that, he just seems like a chill guy. I wish it wasn't like that for him, he needs to speak up more if they aren't paying attention. Him talking about writing some songs made me want to hear them.

Me too, dude! Those totally need to be released.

I wish he'd interact with us more, because it worked wonders on Andy. Maybe he'd realise how much he's loved if he did.

B-side or something, c'mon!

That probably would be good for him, as long as complete dicks don't ruin it, like they do a lot of things.

Yeah - I think Joe freaks out quite easily anyway... Gah.

I just want him to realise he's notbeing ignored, he's just unreachable.

Poor skittish boy ♥

Exactly. He should start a blog or something. I'm sure there will be some assholes, but for the most part, people would probably be happy he got one.

lol I forgot all about that, whoops. I have him as a friend, but I never go on there anymore, it kills my computer. I guess I'm just used to Pete and Patrick having their own websites and him not posting a lot.

The Blender Boycott is just ridiculous. I think Andy freaking out on twitter made everyone hate blender but after he read the article and stopped listening to the annoying twits on twitter he realized that it wasn't so bad. I took Andy's word for it that the article was totally out of context and then he took it back and said that it wasn't that bad. My head was spinning in circles last night.

I totally agree with you though. The artcile was made to be nostalgic and maybe out of context but not nearly so bad to boycott the damn thing.

I don't think Pete is going offline because of the article. He said in another post that he needed a new computer. I think that is why he has gone offline. Fans are just contributing it to the blender article since they happened around the same time.

Wow I said I was so over this thing and here I am rambling on your post. :) Okay, done now.

The irony is, if the fans hadn't gotten hysterical there wouldn't have been any freaking out about it on Twitter.

The reason is that the geniuses on [livejournal.com profile] icecreamhdaches love drama. They love the wank.

Over on [livejournal.com profile] truefobinglove it was just a case of, "Aw, poor Joe/Patrick..." or "LOL. Hurley FTW." or "Damn, those are fugly pants."

The only reason there is as much wank about this, is because the fans helped create it. Totally unnecessarily.

i thought the article was badly written because there was no cohesion to the the points the journalist was making, it was just a mish-mash of moments & quotes explaining very little & without any real angle. BUT. like you said, there's a precedent to the stuff they said in the article, so out of context though the quotes may be, there's enough truth in it for it to be just another boring, repetitive article about the same old shit (pete is a douche, patrick is in his shadow) that no one should really be stirring up drama about.

i just think it's kind of funny how pete did a I'M LEAVING post.

also: KANYE WEST?? AHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHA. dear kanye, someone was mean to pete plz fix it. WTF??

(ps. joooooooe. ♥)

I take it the completely bat/shit fans I met at the concert are not alone?
No let me rephrase, every single person in that community needs to grow a brain ASAP.

Yeah that article sucked hairy balls, but you cannot avoid the sucking if you start sucking hairy balls as well. It doesn´t work like that. This is not a war, you don´t fight fire with fire, this isn´t foreign politics.

Given some of the quotes and the story may be correct, but just taken more than slightly out of context and badly written. But apparently since you all started to adore Twilight this became popular, so deal with it.

And wth, why Kanye?
