Watch this video (but not when you're eating).
...so...is the moral of this "It's fine to get completely titfaced and pork some young grunt at a party, while dressed like a hooker - as long as you use a condom"? Because that's the message I'm getting right there.

on 2009-01-15 12:46 am (UTC)The thing is, over here we have drink-in-moderation ads running, too - where girls go out and get wasted and have a horrible night, acting just like this girl; and then they show the same night again, as it would have been if she'd just had a couple of drinks.
This advert completely contradicts everything in the anti-drinking campaign.

on 2009-01-15 01:52 pm (UTC)the other thing that i think they're totally doing wrong in england is marketing condoms with a scare tactic. like YOU WILL GET STDS & DIE. or this, YOU WILL RUIN YOUR ENTIRE LIFE WITH PREGNANCY. in france they have condom adverts like any other product. some music, a hot guy or girl being all like, "heyyyy, buy this, it's awesome!" a bit of background info (it's comfy! it tastes good! it comes in six pretty colours!) & a witty tagline. it doesn't make sex & condoms into a terrifying thing which i think these adverts do. if they did it more like in france, where condom usage was normal & advertising condoms was like advertising fast-food or a mobile phone, i think it would help a lot, psychologically.
but that aside, yeah, this advert fucking fails. because i'd totally respect a girl who was shit-faced & puking in the bushes if she'd remembered to use a condom.
