I just watched the pilot of Being Human.

The backstory was good (I liked knowing George's view on his faith - weirdly in the Sixteen Candleverse fic I was writing, the Jew was a werewolf, too; and I liked his reaction in the isolation room - his choice and how hard it was), but I like the series version better.

I really did not need a compulsion to finish/re-write Into The Sun, goddammit.

I like the series version better too. I didn't dig the vampires in the pilot, I thought that gothic, war-against-humans stuff was pretty rubbish. But it's good to watch for why George and Mitchell ended up moving in together, which I thought was too important to not explain again in the first episode. Also, for cute feet-in-lap moments. And discussing Harry Potter houses.

Yeah, the pub stuff was fairly accurate to real life, which, given the theme of the programme, is pretty important.

The re-casting of Mitchell and Annie was definitely a good thing, too.

Yeah, I wasn't a fan of pilot Annie. And Mitchell was all laconic in the pilot, which is fine, but the sleeveless t-shirts and thumb rings were a bit dated and reminded me very much of a GBF I had when I was sixteen... I like series Mitchell. He's warmer. He doesn't call George "Lassie". And it doesn't make sense to me while pilot Mitchell would try to go cold turky, he doesn't seem that angst ridden about killing Lauren. He didn't, you know, brood on the floor in a dark room listening to Johnny Cash cover a NIN song... (which is like wearing a sign saying DUDE, I R EMO)

I love Annie's line "I've always thought in Hufflepuff they just spend all their time making stuff with safety scissors and glitter." Makes Hufflepuff seem way more attractive, house-wise.

Hehehe. I know! I always thought Joe would be a Hufflepuff.

Hufflepuffs are a sweet house.

I'm reading some fic, right now. It's quite good so far.

Fic I'm reading: http://community.livejournal.com/beinghuman_fic/3569.html

Ooh, thank you. What happened to "I wont read any fic until the canon is established"?

Let's just say I don't have Mitchell's willpower.

And I'm only reading this one, because I should be writing the pantyfic.

Hee. I may start working my way through those recs... Although it's going to be all Old Mitchell which might be a bit weird.

In my head it's still nu!Mitchell.

But that's exactly the kind of reason I want to wait.

Yeah, because sometimes the charcterisation is so good that old!Mitchell pops up, unbidden, and invades my brain. Which is okay, but a bit confusing. And yes, a good reason to wait.

Still. New fandom squee! Oh, these heady, early days when it can do no wrong...

Hahahaha. Just wait for season two, when they start Kirking people...

You mean the Polo girl?

Yep. Stealing the girl he knew George was into? I see you, Kirk, I see you.

True. But stealing? Or deciding to eat in a bit of a hissy fit after being punched in the face? I can handle that amount of Kirking since it was born beautifully from the slash. But that's quite enough now, Mitchell, thank you.

I'm reading this series of short fics and it's pretty good. Got it from your rec list... Oh I'm so hooked.

I haven't even finished reading the one I linked you to!

Too much dramz to manage in the FC fandom...

I'm a mod, I have to, in this case. It's not directed at me, I've just been involved in sorting it out.

That's not so bad then, I suppose.

Well, it certainly makes a change.
