Okay - this is a weird one, but I wanted to show Julie a story I've read in books over the years, about how (I believe in the 1970s) a mystery voice interrupted transmissions on British TVs, claiming to be an Extraterrestrial Entity warning of our doom over what we were doing to the planet. There was some debate about whether it was a prank or not.

Does anyone know anything about this? I'm obviously not Googling the right terms.

Hahahaha. No, it wasn't that at all, but thanks.

It's nothing to do with H.G. Wells. It wasn't a mock news broadcast, it was a mystery voice claiming to be an alien leader interrupting television broadcasts to warn of what humans were doing to the planet.

A lot of people assumed it was a prank, but a lot of people also pointed out that to broadcast across such a huge area would take quite hardcore equipment. It was in actual books about unexplained mysteries, rather than a story book type thing.

How come you're lurking my journal, btw?
