Our gas bill in the last quarter was £90. Our gas bill for the winter quarter is £335.00.

And this house is never even warm and the hot water goes up and down all the fucking time.

Holy crap dude. That's stupid amounts of money. I'd definitely see the landlord about some of that since you shouldn't have to pay that much for something that doesn't work properly.

I doubt she'll pay any of it (althought she is really lovely) but if I'm paying that fucking much for gas, I want to get a proper hot shower out of it.

Quite. I'd be pissed if I was paying that and couldn't have a decent shower or bath. Fortunately, despite the radiators being a heap of crap in my flat thus requiring me to dot electric ones around the place instead, the boiler does water so hot you can make tea from the tap. Never understood that.

They get away with so much shit these power companies. Ours was the same - from 97 to 320.

Trouble is we have no access to the meter so there's not much to do but pay. If you have a meter you can get to I suggest checking it - and maybe swapping to a different gas company.

Yeah, we did. That was from two actual readings - the amount is right, it's just a lot.
