We Stand Alone Together.
Monday, 20 March 2006 11:52 pmI just found out today, that the real Les Hashey died in December 2002. He appears on the BoB interviews the picture of health; despite surely being around 75 at the time of filming, he looks nearer 60. I'm gutted. I can't describe how sad this makes me feel, because it isn't sad in the usual way... it's a deep-down sad. He's back with the rest of his Company, now; and here the Band of Brothers dwindles.
.

Lester: "The first time of my life I learned to take a life, the last part I taught how to save a life. I have no regrets.
When the Big Jumpmaster in the sky says:"Stand Up, Hook Up," I will be ready to jump because I had all of the best. Wonderful wife 43 years, three great children and three grandchildren. Boy I have been lucky"

From this day to the ending of the world,
But we in it shall be remember'd;
We few, we happy few, we band of brothers;
For he to-day that sheds his blood with me
Shall be my brother;
