When you become nothing but one half of your relationship, having ignored all your friends for over a year, been rude and unnecessarily hostile to the point where you drove them away, it's really rather hypocritical to claim they cut people out of their lives over the 'the slightest thing' when they extend an olive branch to offer some comfort regardless of the offence you caused them.

Speaking for myself, I cut people out of my life on a regular basis, yes; but when it reaches a point where I feel the presence of the other person is having a detrimental effect on my life or our friendship no longer has any value. Sometimes, that is triggered by one massive incident, but more often it is a case of the straw that broke the camel's back. The culmination of a long period or series of problems which finally come to a head and cause the axe to drop.

One thing I do believe is that people who live in glass houses should not throw stones, but I hate to see that person helpless when their world is shattered. I'm happy to help sweep up if you need it.
