Okay, so I'm putting my mother hen apron, here, but... meh. I kind of find myself growing uneasy with all the drinking.
I mean, people are making a big deal ("So, this is the first awards ceremony you've been drinking at...") and it's not like it's just occasionally. It's like every time we see him, now.
Someone is being a bad influence, I feel.

Sorry to but in..but
on 2007-09-10 07:38 pm (UTC)They're grown ups and they were at a party in vegas. Of course everyone is going to get smashed out of their minds.
I'm sorry for not agreeing with everyone here, but drinking isn't the worst fucking thing in the world. People drink at parties. It happens. I bet there was some pot smoking too going on.
The thing you got to remember is that as long as it doesn't effect their job and you hear reports of any of them ditching their job for booze, that's when you start getting concerned.
So far, I have yet to see that with any of the boys.
I'm sorry to rant and butt in on that, but I think everyone is taking this a bit too seriously.

on 2007-09-10 07:47 pm (UTC)And then everyone comments about how they're concerned about the drinking?
Then what is the actual point, miss?
I haven't missed the point. I think people are overacting to vices that people indulge in. Just because they're celebrities doesn't mean they're not people like you or I. Some of us don't drink and some of us do. Some of us have casual sex and some of us don't. Some of us feed our mouths with food and some don't. The list of vices goes on and on.
It's when those vices start effecting their job is when you worry. Other than that, I really saw no problem with what they did last night. It's a party in Vegas. People are suppose to get a little wild.

on 2007-09-10 08:01 pm (UTC)Patrick has never really drunk at all. He used to be straightedge as a kid. Then he chose not to drink. Now, in the last few weeks, he's been drinking at every single public appearance.
It bothers me, it clearly bothers other people commenting here as well. I'm not staging a fucking intervention, I'm just saying it's a big leap. I hate to see ANYONE drinking any amount. I think people who drink are fucking idiots, and it disappoints me to people I know in real life or online doing it at all.
That is my personal issue, and you really need to get your immature little head out of your arse and accept that. All I'm saying - IN MY PERSONAL JOURNAL - is that it bothers me to see someone I like and respect drinking so often, so suddenly. Especially when so many people in their social circle are known for taking it too far or having a problem.
And no, Andy isn't a saint, but I have a lot of respect for him for sticking to his values.
I didn't ask you to come to my LJ, I don't want you in my LJ. You now cannot comment in my LJ and have made yourself look like a fool to all the people reading. Well done.
Bye bye, now.

on 2007-09-10 08:02 pm (UTC)For once, kids saw someone cool and famous and successful that didnt get plastered at every opportunity, and now, they're seeing its cool to get shit-faced.
I was at Decaydance too, and I honestly couldn't believe Travvie trained the bottle in front of everybody. The cheers when he did that were deafening, and that I personally think it was incredibly irresponsible of him.

on 2007-09-10 08:22 pm (UTC)Shit.. I've been living in the wrong city all my life!
Oh, since when was eating a vice?
You also seem to have totally missed the point that the drinking is starting to impact on Travis' and his performances.
