The Government has set up a website so people can petition the Prime Minister directly.

Go now and vote for the REALLY IMPORTANT THINGS - like changing the National Anthem to Gold, by Spandau Ballet!

Vancouver.

Expedia currently has holidays in Vancouver March for under £500.

I have about that in savings already. But no passport. My boss is off work, next week, but I'm going to get him to sign my passport forms the moment he's back in the office.

The Howard Johnson Hotel in Yaletown looks sweet, and nicer than the Bosman - I'd have preferred the Ramada Downtown, which is all art deco, but it's not a huge difference.

If my dad sends me any Christmas money (it got lost in the post, last year) I am going to go if it means going on my fucking own! It'd be about six weeks after Pegasus 2, but I don't plan to spend much for that.

I know Julie was interested in going, and Ashe as well - but I'm not sure she'd be ready to go so soon.

But the main thing is HOLY CHRIST, CAN YOU BELIEVE HOW CHEAP THAT IS?! It's flight AND hotel.

I really want to go - really, really, really!

Hi Everyone

I am appealing on behalf of a little Lakota Boy named Marcus Ten Fingers, who has acute child Leukaemia.

He has to go to a hospital in Minnesota for chemotherapy treatment, but his family has no money for fuel to get him there, hotel and food money for the family etc, and they are in desperate need of help.

They have asked for help from agencies and from the tribe, but no money is available so I have been asked to put out an appeal for this little boy.

Please send anything you can as soon as possible to :-

Theodora Ten Fingers
1015 Wamblee Dr
Rapid City
South Dakota
57701
USA

The treatment for Marcus starts on December 28th, so please make his, and his family’s Christmas look brighter by helping in anyway you can.

I also wish everyone a Happy Christmas and a Good New Year and I will keep posting newsletters and information for the Lakota people as they come in.

Best Wishes to all

Brenda
Lakota Aid.

Edit: Advice from Brenda:

Thankyou for all you are trying to do and if you send dollars inside a greetings card and put this inside a bubble wrap pack and really seal it all well it will get there by airmail ok. I have sent some myself this way and it does get there ok.

Pegs for Money.

New t-shirt!

I just bought it from the Pegasus 2 Spreadshirt Shop created by [livejournal.com profile] neth_dugan.

It is cute and awesome and combines the names of my two favourite characters (I've been referring to them jointly as 'Stackham' for years, now - YEARS?! Have I really been into this years?!). I have tags for my Marpat shirt with 'STACKHAM' on them. Those shall be attached before I go.

I've decided that my signed items from Pegasus 2 are going to be auctioned on eBay and the proceeds will go to the Pine Ridge funds. I'm going to buy pictures with the guys which will be signed anyway, and the ones from past cons are just sitting in a folder anyway. And it will help raise awareness. I'm going to take little print-outs for the guests and do my best to explain the situation as I can in 30 seconds.

Who knows? It might strike a chord with someone... To have someone in a cult-like fandom of this nature championing something would be awesome.

I might also see about holding a screening of the documentary - possibly at Treadwell's if I can work out a way to get a projector or TV down there. We'll see...

I never really noticed how much dairy I eat until now.

Literally, everything except stirfry and pastina has some sort of dairy in it. Oh - and cajun chicken and rice.

It's been two days and I hate it. I don't care if I do turn out to be allergic to dairy products, I can't go through life without cheese!

Things I can't eat at the moment (and wouldn't necessarily eat every day, but still):

  • Pizza
  • Pancakes or crepes (and especially not cheese and spinach crepes)
  • Creamy pasta (like salmon and spinach pasta)
  • Pasta with bacon, tomato and cheese (and no, it doesn't work without cheese)
  • Chicken in white sauce
  • Toast (no butter and nothing tastes right - jam seeps in and Marmite tastes fucking horrendous)
  • Glasses of milk (and I can't have the jam sandwich that would go with it, because I can't have butter on the bread, and as I said: jam seeps in)
  • Yogurts
  • Custard (only included because Julie was talking about it)
  • Lasagne or cheese sauce-topped pastas
  • Cheese on toast
  • Ice cream
  • Cheese and mushroom pasties (which I sometimes have for dinner on Circle nights)
  • Mash and cheese
  • Chocolate (I only eat milk chocolate, or occasionally white chocolate)
  • Popcorn (either served with or cooked in butter)

    Shall I go on?

I actually have a food headache and I'm starving, and I can't cook anything because I threw out all my dairy products and nothing else takes less than half an hour and it's already bloody late.

People who really don't eat dairy: ARE YOU FUCKING INSANE?! Or do you just have will of steel?

And don't tell me to try soya: it's the devil's work.
