So, since Pete and Ashlee announced their baby, and FoE posted a poll asking people to guess what the baby would be, some people in fandom have been freaking out about how the mother deserves privacy and how dare they ask this question all the time.

I'm not a mother, but I don't think it's a big deal - what do you think?

I don't see any problem with the poll at all. It's just a little bit of fun.

I think I'd be annoyed if someone thought it was their god given right to know the sex of my baby, just because they could see I was pregnant/I'd told them I was. Especially if I didn't know myself, it would drive me crazy. But I think the worst part would be someone going "Oh I bet you want a little girl/boy, don't you!" or like lordgroovius said, someone feeling like they can just come up and touch my belly just because there's a baby in there.
