Goddamn skin.

My left hand is burning so much, right now.

I don't know if I hurt it cooking dinner - I don't remember burning it - or if it's from scooping up chillis and them getting onto the parts of my hand that are still new skin from where it's been peeling recently (which sounds really gross food-wise, but there's no skin peeling now - just new skin that was exposed when it was peeling).

It started at my fingertips and has spread down to my palm, though, so I'm guessing it's not. I've run them under cold taps and tried washing them but nothing helps.

I swear to God, they better figure out what's wrong with me soon, because this is getting sliiiiightly fucking annoying, now.

Guess what I did today - aside from fall off a stool in a First Aid training centre and twist my foot?

I spent the morning handling and counting real human bones (everything from feet to kneecaps to skulls) so that they can be cremated. Yes, I did just say that.

They're old training aids from the early St John days and because they constitute "human tissue" they can't just be binned out of respect for the PERSON THEY USED TO BE and because of human rights (seriously) they can't be put on display anymore, even though they were from people who gave their bodies to science.

Good job I'm not squeamish, really.

(If anyone's wondering why I'm volunteering at my old job, it was at a centre in the suburbs, with two elderly ladies who absolutely could not have managed lifting and cleaning some of the shit we did today. It had nothing to do with NHQ, and everything to do with the brigade and history. Although two Asian girls came in and asked us how to get on courses, so I went into Account Co-ordinator mode and gave them all the relevant courses and numbers so they could book.

Job bitterness fail.)

I just had to order a keyboard and mouse for my laptop. I've spent so much time on it the last couple of weeks that it's giving me real problems with my arms and hands. Resting my wrists on the computer is makes them hot and I want to claw my skin off.

My hands are, y'know, also going totally numb. And sweating so much I can't use my touchpad.

I already have what I think must be Raynaud's (a lot of people in my family have it, and I've got all the symptoms) so I don't want to do any more damage than I have to.

The funny part? My LED mouse cost £0.01 on Amazon. The postage is £4.98.

I think I just trapped a nerve in the top of my back.

Serious owie.

Also, Most Haunted is announcing their psychic artist with such fanfare. He's crap. I'm better than he is. My pictures actually have features not just generic smudges, for a start.

(For those of you who don't know, Ian from my team used to be on this prgram as one of their psychics. They buried him alive, once.)

It's probably ironic how cynical I am about other psychics. Some people are such morons and frauds.

*bitchslaps*

Pain.

Ow. Owowowowowowowowowowowowowow.

On our first night in Chicago, I fell over. Tripped up the curb and landed really badly on my left knee. My shin was all swollen, with a noticeable lumb and some speckled bruising.

It hurt so much, I bought some Tylenol while I was there, and was actually limping at times. It was agony to crawl onto our huge beds or put any pressure on it.

Well, a week later, it was getting better. 'Was' being the operative word.

Just now, a plane flew over, so I hopped up to look at it, because I'm a plane geek, and tripped over my pyjamas. Landed really, really hard on exactly the same leg.

My foot now has pins and needles.

I've had some Tylenol. It still hurts.

Stupid girl.

Ow.

My cat just attacked me. In the face. For no reason.

I now have two scratches on my forehead. And two actual cuts in the creases of my eyelid. One of them is quite bad; it's nearly a centimetre long and does that weird thing where the skin pulls apart if I gently lift my eyelid. If it isn't okay by tomorrow night I think I might need a stitch in it.

I washed it with anti-bacterial soap and warm water and it's now caked in Savlon, but I am really pissed off with my cat.

I have no idea why she did it. I was just standing at the backdoor, holding her, she wasn't trying to get down or hissing or anything - and then she just lashed out at my face. :(

The irony was, I was just thinking how I was a Cat Person.

Not anymore.

Pirate! Ar.

Got conjunctivitis. Laying in bed with what looks alarmingly like spunk in my eye, and a gauze patch taped over it.

Seems a little excessive to be honest.

Ow. Headache. Deep buzzing noise coming from Robert's room.

OW.

Going to sleep. Wish I had the Marnie Mains track from Circumference in a format I could put on repeat. *scowls* I like that song.
