Guys, can anyone do me a favour? I'm making an audio primer for the main FBR bands (FOB, CS, GCH, TAI, P!ATD) and a couple of peripherals, friends and former bands and a couple I just like, for [livejournal.com profile] jackie_brown but I don't actually own anything by TAI and GCH because I'm intensely lame at buying CDs and I don't like downloading from iTunes or whatever.

Can anyone send me their recs for TAI? I really don't know anything much by them (despite having seen them twice).

Thanks.

The idea is just to give her a clue as to what they all sound like.

And for those who are interested, the playlist so far )

So, [livejournal.com profile] beingothrwrldly asked who we'd sleep with in the FBR family.

I've thought about this a lot and I have come to the following conclusion:

Noes!
- Greta from The Hush Sound. I prefer the ones who look like dudes to actually be dudes. I'm sorry.
- Any of The Hush Sound, because they're really all kind of weird looking. I'm still sorry. I'm sure they're lovely people.
- Panic! at the Disco. Because they're creepy. Not in a bad way... just. Yeah. I would have done Jon but the beard and the shaved head make him look kind of like a convict. But their bodyguard, Zach? Oh yeah.
- Paramore. Because the urge for asphyxiation? Not a kink, just a potential murder rap.
- The Academy Is... NEED TO EAT SOME FUCKING PIES!
- Gym Class Heroes (-Travie). They don't even get an explanation. I just wouldn't.
- Pete Wentz. Ew.

Hmmm...
- Andy Hurley. Way, way too skinny. But then... MESSIAHORLY? Who wouldn't fuck the next Jesus?
- Travie McAlcholic. He's Travie! TRAVIE! But he'd have to be dry for a year first.

YES! YES! YES!
- Cobra Starship. All of them. AT ONCE.
- Gabe Saporta. I don't even know why, man, but this guy actually deserves his own entry. He's far too tall. He's far too skinny. Clearly, it must be the Cobra. (Euphemism? What Euphemism?!)
- Patrick Stump. SRSLY. I don't really know how to explain this kid. He looks so sweet and naive and innocent... but you know, you JUST FUCKING KNOW, he is a kinky little bitch. It's like someone distilled all the Hot Sexxx in the world and poured him full of it. All that cloth-soaking man juice you see in shows? That's the sex spilling over. Ohyesitis.
- JOE 'THE UGLY DUCKLING' TROHMAN. I say only this:

We all know he threw up shortly after this picture. AND IT'S STILL HOT.

I'm kind of annoyed with Troh, though: couldn't he have got hot before I got him tattooed on my wrist?

I posted this at [livejournal.com profile] icecreamhdaches earlier, and I just wanted to repost it here because I feel it bears repeating:

Can everyone take a step back from bitching about Victoria for a second and consider that this might actually be damage control?

Patrick and Ashlee are under contract with their respective record companies. They are not allowed to work on other people's music for release without consent. If they admit that they were involved, this could get them both in deep shit.

Plus, Pete only said recently that he doesn't want to 'sell' his relationship, so having his girlfriend recording with his best friend and a girl from his record label (even for fun while dicking around on tour or in the studio) isn't doing a whole lot to support that, is it?

People really need to understand that the way you read things in the press is contrived to make a story out of events that really don't warrant it. We don't know the extent to which they were involved because it has come through the MTV spin cycle and the Pete PR blender.

I feel really bad for Victoria, personally. I think Gabe's right and she was just trying to give credit where it was due. People would have been just as harsh to her if it did come out later that Ashlee kind of came up with the chorus while they were joking around on tour, and Vicky-T then put it in the song or something, or if they found out Patrick had made a short sequence while showing her GarageBand and she'd used that, and she hadn't said anything.

Damned if you do, damned if you don't. I'm going to give her the benefit of the doubt, myself.

Fucking hell.

From Vicky-T's MySpace bullentin:

"Hello there, I have a music store ... you can buy my tunes. I know a lot of you have asked for em!

Included is a new track called "Black and Light." The song lyrics were written by Ashlee Simpson and myself. The track was recorded on Garageband. I recorded keys, Patrick Stumph recorded the bass and drums with midi.

All and all pretty collaborative. It's short, a bit dark ... and yet a bit dancy."

I have no words. But my brain just melted.

Both my Hammersmith Fall Out Boy tickets and my FueledByRamen 'FALL OUT BOY IS A GANG' t-shirt arrived today!

W00t!

I ♥ Fueled By Ramen. I also love that the dollar is worth so little, lately, because it means everything I buy is half price. AND they take Paypal.

FTW.

Feeling a bit better today. I slept over 12 hours and only got up at half four. Now I'm watching "A Castle in the Country" which is about Glamis (pronounced GLAHM-z), in Scotland - my favourite castle, and supposedly one of the most haunted buildings in the world. The Queen Mother was raised there, and she hated the Blue Room, which is allegedly one of the worst for paranormal disturbances. It's riddled with secret rooms and was once supposed to house the badly deformed son of one of the Lairds. He was such an embarrassment they hid him away, but there is a portrait of him with the boy by his side in one ofthe rooms. I believe the child's skin is a greenish hue (it's a long time since I had my books on the matter).

So: your random fact for the day, there.

I want noodles.
