Wuuuuuuuuuuuuuurgh.

This is about as coherent as I feel today.

Yesterday, I spent almost 14 hours on my feet, NSOing and prancing around in pink sparkly knickers (over my jeans), arm wrestling in Mexican wrestling masks, atrocious karaoke, body popping with Betsy and explaining to Sophia why it was okay for her to take a poo in the pub toilet.

Yes. It was that classy.

And I was stone cold sober.

There are so many amazing girls who were with us yesterday, who didn't make that pic. Taco Hell's little sister, Elisa, was selling Mexican sugar skulls and masks to raise money for the league she's setting up in Mexico to buy skates with.

It's so nice, that despite obvious competition - this is a competitive contact sport, after all - the leagues get on like one massive family. All the girls are so sweet. And the Rockers had a great time, freshies to the first round of girls. It was really nice.

Even if I saw a little more flesh than I really would have liked... ;)

I am what I am.

Why must everyone be a stroppy teenager about everything?

*headdesk*

In other news (or perhaps topically), Facebook are fucking mental and decided that my name - my real name, the one on my passport, and the one my colleagues call me - is in fact fake, and have disabled my account until such time as I give them my "real" one. Which it already is and which I was already using.

How did we come to this? Well, their automated system would not accept my roller derby name (long explanation, if you don't know roller derby, but think of it kind of somewhere between an alterego and a stage name and then assume everyone who plays the sport only knows you by that roller derby name and not the one your parents gave you) so, using their help form as provided, I asked if it would be possible for it to be added as the alternate name or as a nickname. Their response was to tell me my real name was fake (proving that 'Natalia' who emailed me back had not read my email at all and just made random assumptions, as it clearly explained what the circumstances were) and disable my perfectly legitimate account.

So, if you had me friended and now can't find me, this is why. I haven't blocked you, the fucking idiots have blocked me.

So, my knee was fine until I fell on it really heavily three times at practice today. Over all, it was a good practice, but now my leg feels really quite pathetic and feeble. Coming out of the gym it felt like it was just going to give way (which, given the problems with the quadriceps insertion is a possibility).

I also have a cold, right now. I'm exhausted and frankly feel physically quite miserable. I hope I'm better by Saturday, as Vicky is coming down to visit properly for the first time in about five years.

Unfortunately, I see a hell of a lot of non-weekends in my future. I will be so glad when the office move is over with.

Also, I still have patches of that rash. I can't wait for my blood test on Monday, so I can have some answers. Mind you, it took them weeks and five instances of blood taking to get anything, last year. *head desk*

I hope this gets sorted soon. I'm so tired of being ill.

Well, motherfuck.

Still have massive knee pain today. To the point where sometimes, while sitting on the floor at the bout (which the Goldie Lookin' Chain Gang won in the last jam by one point - go coach!) I actually had to put my hands under my knee and lift my leg to move it.

I think the other pains in my hip and foot are due to the altered gait as I've been compensating for the pain.

I think I have inflammation of the quadriceps insertion - basically where the muscle joins the patella/kneecap. It doesn't really hurt if my knee is completely folded without pressure from standing or anything, say, if I pull my knee up to my chest while sitting; but that moment when you push up to get up from a chair or step up a step is really painful. Like, actually cry-out painful. This would be why I had to roll off the sofa to get up the other night.

Clearly, I should have bought those knee supports I'd intended to get this month.

The bout was great, though. I was really impressed by Sin D Doll and Jack Attack and it was lovely to see [livejournal.com profile] scoobygang63, briefly - she was doing trackside maintenance for the Rockin' Rollers, which is awesome. I'm so glad she's got into roller derby.

I would have liked to have gone on to the afterparty but Sharon was keen to get home and she was on my Network Railcard, so I had to go with her. Never mind. By the time I did get home and got my pyjamas on, the monitoring station called to say that the intruder alarm had gone off at the office, so [livejournal.com profile] shiny_starlight and I had to get dressed and get a taxi to Hove to investigate and reset it. Nobody had been in - I checked the door system - which is kind of weird.

I'm really glad to be home, though; and super glad I don't have to be at work in the morning. I think I'd about have to kill myself if I did.

Argh. After the Random Rash Of Death and the swollen neck and the damaged connective tissue in my shoulder and my bad...skeletal make up... I made it back to roller derby tonight to find that I appear to be coming down with a chest... thing. It feels like pop-rocks in my lungs, which usually heralds a chest infection and I've been hacking my lungs up all evening.

Goddammit. I'm already on antibiotics - how can this be possible?!

On the plus side, despite feeling like shit, I still managed 19 laps in five minutes. Which for a first attempt isn't bad. Even our coach struggled to get 25 today, I think.

Thank fuck I have a pre-booked doctor's appointment... seven hours from now.

Need to sleep, but fandom keeps poking me and asking me to coat it in battery acid again... :|

This is how we spent our day, yesterday - marching in Brighton's biggest ever Pride parade.

Mooshy and I, as captured by [livejournal.com profile] shiny_starlight virtually outside our house - Julie couldn't march because she ruined herself at practice a couple of weeks ago.

They see us rollin', they quakin'... )
